I suppose I could edit the VSTRING files easy enough and replace the
defaults, but that eliminates the user being able to set their own. I'm not
sure how I want to proceed. I want it to look different from the outset. I
could replace all %b, %p and %l with heart codes, but it negates color
settings for the user. I could use scripts instead but that's excessive.

I'll have to think on it and see what I want to do.

The reason I asked is because it would be easier to set the default color
codes of the user than to change the 400+ VSTRING settings. It would be more
time saving to write a simple program to write my own user color defaults
instead of doing it through VSTRING. I wanted to make sure there wasn't a
setting menu somewhere I was missing.

You can change the heart code colors in vconfig.exe though it will mess up any
networked posts that use heart codes.

Corrupt login

I tried to log onto my board a few days ago and I can log in but it will get
to the daily quote script and stays stuck. It will not proceed to the main
menu. I have a backup to try yet. I also have a machine with the working bbs
but not updated with new users etc. Hate to go down since I started out in
the late 90s with this board. To be continued...

It's starting again! Windows 10 is rebooting at night on a daily basis. What
happens is it's updating and rebooting my system and then the bbs doesn't
load. I have to manually do this on a daily basis. It's kind of like the
engine shut off on your new car (metaphorically) and I need to find the
switch to shut it off.... go figure!

I reinstalled it and everything is working fine. I have no idea what the heck
happened. Something must have got corrupted.

I'ver been playing around with Vitrtual Adv. and all was well. Got it
installed and was connecting. But all of the sudden when i try to connect to
it makes it as far as Netfoss loading and thats it. When i looked in the
"Who's Online" in VADV32 it shows the IP Address but shoe "Waiting" in the
Action section. Can't figure it out. Everything was fine one day and not the
next.

I'm running VDAV in Windows 7 in Virtual Box

I don't have a guide for it, but check out NTVDMx64.

Sorry if this is a dumb question.
I used to run VADV back when I had a 32 bit machine running windows 10 and it
ran fine, but now that I have a newer system that no longer supports 16 bit
files would there possibly be a work around or a fix for the 16bit errors
that my system is throwing at me for VME.EXE and such? or would it be better
for me to try and pull up a DOSbox?
