feature level (FidoNet tosser, JAM compatibility, ANSI draw mode, themed
message boxes, and the full message base index reader). Builds with Free
Pascal 2.6.2 for Windows (XP+, 32-bit) and Linux (i386); macOS/Darwin
compiles to objects. A community fork of the Mystic BBS 1.10 alpha 38 source,
released under the GNU General Public License v3. The goal is a clean,
buildable, well-documented tree that the BBS scene can build, run, study, and
carry forward on the platforms that matter to it - Windows XP (32-bit),
Debian/Linux (i386), and macOS/Darwin - using the original Free Pascal 2.6.2

A 32-bit virtual COM port / FOSSIL driver and Telnet server for classic
Windows, letting DOS and 16-bit BBS door games talk over TCP/IP as if through
a modem. Originally written by Dedrick Allen (Allen Software), 1997ΓÇô2001,
and released under the GNU General Public License v2. This repository
preserves his original driver source and revives the project with a new, open
GUI built in Free Pascal / Lazarus - replacing the proprietary component the
original GUI depended on, so the whole thing can be built from free tools.

A TCP-level bot gate for BBS systems. BotGate sits in front of your BBS's
real telnet port and requires each caller to press ESC twice within a
configurable timeout before your actual BBS software ever sees the
connection. Callers who don't respond - or who are obviously automated rather
than human - are disconnected without ever reaching the BBS. Originally built
to protect a Spitfire BBS node running behind a NetSerial virtual-modem
bridge, but should work with any BBS reachable over telnet since it operates
purely at the TCP/telnet level with no dependency on, or awareness of, what's
actually running behind it. Features: Custom ansi/ascii prompt screens -
Synchronet-style .can blocklist support - Geo-blocking via IP2Location-format
.htaccess lists - Reverse-DNS hostname matching - Per-IP simultaneous
connection cap - Automatic rate-limiting with a self-managed, human-readable
temporary ban file -For Sync sysops optional proxy protocol support, so Sync
(with HAPROXY_PROTO enabled) can still see the real caller's IP for their own
filtering and logs - Pure Python 3 standard library, no third-party
dependencies, runs on Linux, Windows, and macOS.

TLDR: Sync's webv4 is now very fast and does not stall. Detail: Two changes
to address long pauses when navigating the webv4 forum: 1) webv4/lib/forum.js
Remove unnecessary MsgBase open/close from listSubs. The two fields requiring
an open MsgBase (unread, newest) are both commented out, making the
open/close pure overhead. This caused multi second page render stalls on
every click. 2) webv4/root/js/common.js - Add AbortController to v4_fetch()
so in-flight AJAX requests are cancelled when a new request is made,
preventing orphaned server-side threads from accumulating during rapid
navigation. Also adds beforeunload handler to close the EventSource
connection cleanly on navigation. Download Sync nightly build to update:

Great news for win10 32bit BBS Sysops. In a update to its official Windows 10
Extended Security Updates page, Microsoft pushed the consumer ESU coverage
period to October 12, 2027. That is one full year beyond the earlier October
2026 cutoff home users were planning around.
