Introduction
============

You must have had times when you wanted to send a piece of Electronic
Mail or a File to someone from the DOS prompt instead of having to
start up the BBS to do it.

This program lets you prepare a message as a straight ASCII text file
and send it, optionally with an attached file, directly from the
DOS prompt to its addressee.

Yes, we're talking about this in EMAIL too.

For VFIDO to start using the GATEWAY.4 it must believe it has a piece of
gated mail destined for NetworkId 4.

I'll need to see the PENDING.* or NETMAIL.* files to ascertain why.

Seems like I am not the only person having difficulty with Vfido. Neil,
since I know you read this sub, I was having trouble with Vfido Locking up
with a file not found error. The last line of vfidoXX.log says something
like input read Gateway.4 input and nothing else. Nothing that would
indicate a file etc to me, any ideas?

Multinet BRE/FE Mailer Interface

PURPOSE: To allow the BRE mailers VPBRE (Michael L. Smith, V-Pro Industries)
and BRESND (author unknown) to work together, allowing a single BRE league
to run on Virtual-, FIDO-, and WWIV-type networks simultaneously.

REVISION HISTORY:
1.40 beta Fixed a major bug--after adding a tenth node to my own league,
I discovered that BRE addresses its packets in hexadecimal!
Added code to convert hexadecimal to decimal. Added more error
handling; now exits without locking if an error is encountered.
This will cause VPBRE to toss packets intended for WWIV, but
at least the BBS will keep running. Changed the nodelist routine
to handle missing or unsorted node numbers and to be more
forgiving of incorrectly formatted nodelists. Minor cosmetic and
logging changes were made.
1.31 beta Fixed a major bug--outbound packets were not being moved properly
if more than one WWIV-type system was configured. Minor cosmetic
and logging changes were made.
1.20 beta Initial release.

It sends the file back if it finds it, so what you describe suggests the file
was not found.

You can check if are making the most of the network traffic that flows
through your BBS by comparing the message and file areas you carry with
those carried by your clients.

If a client is carrying a message area but you are not, then you might
as well carry it on his own BBS as well since that incurs no extra cost.
