Yes thi is a front wheel drive vehicle. and I have a suspicion that it
was hit in the rear, even though I knew the person I bought it form and they
did not have an accident with it , it could have happened before they bought
it. I have this suspicion because part of the body is chipping and it
appears to be some type of professional plaster or so the opinion of my
former truck buff friend. Thank you for inquiring!

I think you mean "Meineke". Oh, hell- I probably spelled it wrong myself :)

If her steering wheel is shaking, it may be her front rotors. If the rear
of the car is "wiggling", I would suspect a suspension problem- possibly
the shocks or maybe even the leaf springs (unless it has coil springs in
the back, but I doubt it).

Getting back to the original poster- is this a front wheel drive car?

Well Since All I do If Play With Cars And such I can Tell you it sounds like
a brake problem to me. It might be the calipers, Roters, Drums, Or the Break
Pads For the Front Or the break Shoes For The Back.. Bring it to your local
Mineake Not Shure How Its Spelled But there Pretty good not like midas Thely

Know that story...it and ones like it are why I'm NOT one any more. <sigh>
Figured my sanity was worth more than any money I could make working for
largely unappreciative people who wanted to follow "I don't know anything
about cars, what could cause this" with "You're lying, there's no way THAT
could be the cause." Figgered it was quit, or go up the river for beating
someone senseless with a 4 foot extension bar.

Can anybody clue me in.(Don't say get a chevy or ford) When I come to a stop
the rear of my car wiggles so does the steering wheel. I took it to my local
mechanic. Their opinion was get two new back tires. that was what I did
yesterday. Today it still shakes I am thinking alignment steering axle or
what ever it is called I can draw it. I am giong to take it back on monday
but I would really appreciate some other opinions. It is a 1986 Buick
Century Sedan( and I think it's not great the body is so light and I wax it
once a week cometimes every other week and it looks worse now than when I got
it 3 months ago). Does anybody else have one , can you tell me how they
handle in the snow.? Thanks

To ALL, Could I kindly ask some of you on this sub to consider calling other
vbbs BBS'S in your area and sugjest to them that they resubscribe to this
Automotive Repair Information Sub, I use to have around 400 subscribing
BBS's, then I lost my VV*.Net File due to an upgrade error and now I'm at
around 50 BBS's, if I can get the other 350 I lost to resubscribe it would
help bring in better automotive comunication, also if you have any technical
questions I'm a micro-processor controlled systems automotive specialist.

what do you think of the domestic car co's? Chevy, Ford, Chrysler?
We haven't heard too much about that on this section.
Personally, I like Ford's, and there's a few Chevy's I wouldn't mind having -
currently the Impala SS, I like most Ford's, not lousy ones like the Aspire
and the old Tempo's.
Chrysler is out of the question, for me anyway. I dont like the fact that the
American taxpayers 'bailed them out' in the late 70's. Hey- what about all
the other car co's that went out? Studebaker, Hudson, etc. !!!! No one helped
them! I'm sure that if you went under in your repair business, that the gov't
wouldnt bail you out! Do you agree? Write Back!

That's sounds like an interesting BBS, as far as I know, there's none around

The ones i like are the costomers that know you close at a certin time of day,
newspaper ads storefront signs ect... ask you to fix a flat tire .....sooo
you drop the paperwork to help them out meanwhile you dinner is getting cold
the wife and kids are waiting for you to get home because you have plans-
and you bend over backwards to help ae... breaking the tire down finding
fix-a-flat (100% flamable) them saying " yea i put it in yesterday" NEVER
reading the directions (for temparary use only),finishing the job do it for
free because you are already late and have to finish the paperwork and don't
want any more...... ten minutes later they come pulling in the parking lot
complaining that the tailight went out and it worked before you fixed my tire
soooo its your fault and i want it fixed now and you try to explain to the
