Sean Dennis | All | Bad night |

Hello All, So last night was a bad night for me. My ribs still ache and I had a tickle in my throat that wouldn't go away so I was having to hold my chest all night. I am, of course, out of pain killer and the only other pain med I can take is Tylenol which is worthless to me. While I was dealing with that, around 1:30 AM EST, I was on my phone reading Instagram when I heard a loud beep from my personal computer. I kinda ignored it as Windows likes to complain at times but then I smelled that wonderful acrid smell of burning electronics. I rushed over to the computer and yeah, that power supply lost its smoke. I found a used, tested, and working identical power supply off of eBay for $15. Should be here Friday. So if I am slow to respond to messages, that's why. I have a 19" monitor on the BBS so I can deal with mail here just fine. Everything else I am stuck on my little 12.5" laptop for now. If my computer's motherboard is damaged, I do have a spare computer I can press into service, but I really hope I didn't damage the motherboard. We'll know Friday... -- Sean ... Little-known fact: computers run on smoke, not electricity. --- GoldED+/LNX 1.1.5-b20240209 * Origin: Outpost BBS * Johnson City, TN (618:618/1) |
