I test it weekly by dropping it on a run four feet up.  It will say "Fall 
detected-calling...".  You press the button on it and it stops it, saying 
"Fall detection cancelled".

It works with AT&T and Verizon (I have both in my area).  If I was in an area 
where there was another carrier, they'd send me another device set up to work 
with that carrier.
