You have to remember that we're not used to this cold. Tonight, it's dropping
to -20C (-4C) and that is a real strain.  If my power goes out, I have no
heat.  I physically can't handle cold well anymore due to my chronic
illnesses.

I can handle snow better than freezing rain and ice.  If I fell on ice, it'd
probably kill me.

I ued to live in north-central Idaho in Idaho County about 34 years ago.
15-20 feet of snow was not uncommon and we used snowmobiles to go everywhere.

Now even 1/2" of snow gives me issues.
