Hello Rob! ** On Saturday 11.07.26 - 05:57, you wrote to DIGIMAUS: RM> Odd coincidence, when I read this message 'Angel of the Morning' was RM> playing on my computer and I thought it was her, but it was the Juice RM> Newton version of it. I concur. Juice Newton's version has a nice punch with the drums. I have that as a 45rpm record too. Meanwhile.. I learned that the Pretenders have a version of it too. Not bad, but the Newton version sounds more definitive. The original by Evie Sands seems lacking. I didn't realize that Olivia Newton-John covered it too. Again, not as good as the JN version. The Merilee Rush version comes close to the JN version, but I find the horns somewhat comical and out of place, killing the passion of the song. RM> I went looking for Tyler's and found it online but I'm afraid I much RM> prefer Juice Newton's version of that song.. but those other 2 somgs RM> Tyler did better than anyone else I think.. There are a couple of songs that Tyler sings that remind me of a rasping goat. |
