RM> Odd coincidence, when I read this message 'Angel of the Morning' was

AA>I concur. Juice Newton's version has a nice punch with the drums. I have
  >that as a 45rpm record too.

AA>Meanwhile.. I learned that the Pretenders have a version of it too. Not bad,
  >but the Newton version sounds more definitive.

That one made the rounds..

AA>The original by Evie Sands seems lacking.

Which is unusual, often the first to do a song does it best and
later copies don't do as well. There's a minor advantage in that
the original was 'The Original', so nothing else will be fairly
compared to it unless it is noticable better.

AA>There are a couple of songs that Tyler sings that remind me of a rasping
  >goat. :( Oh well..

Yes, the version of 'Angel of the Morning' I found was rather raspy and
a little flat sounding, which was a surprise.

Funny my (poor?) memory.. I was thinking it was Tyler that had the
rather public affair with Glen Campbell way back but it turned out
it was Tanya Tucker who was involved in that.

One singer that did a lot of remakes of songs and was probably
better than she got credit for was LeAnn Rimes. I have about
a dozen of her songs in my collection and most are pretty good.

I sort of think she didn't get taken seriously because she
started off as a Child star best known for doing 'How Do I Live'..
