The tree I was thinking of when I typed that is a Cherry.  Although not weeping,
it does have the small pinkish blooms that the weepers do.  Maybe wet was its
issue... we have alternated between very wet and very dry so maybe I only
noticed it after it got dry.  My neighbor has some sort of ornamental fruit tree
that did the same thing... all the leaves on both trees are already gone.

Some of the Tulip Poplars and Locusts have started turning yellow, and dropping.
 The Locusts often do that early, though.  I have a tree/bush of unknown type
that has leaves that turn a beautiful red and it started early, too.  The Maples
and the Redbud seem to be holding onto most of theirs pretty well, as does my
other Cherry tree (different variety with bigger "carnation-looking" flowers).

Oh, yeah, I think Thanksgiving and Christmas were more enjoyable before that
time of year got so commercialized.
