If I was to run a virus scanner, I'd use ClamAV as MBSE is designed to 
use that.  All other utils are internal to MBSE.

When I used to run Maximus/2, I used a custom-written FILES.BBS creation 
program for FILES.BBS stuff.  I used NEF for .TIC handling, file 
hatching, and filefix.  I didn't use a virus scanner (hard to find an 
uopdated one for OS/2).
