I do still have an occassional issue with exteral drives but, usually, they
work now.  I do have to mount them manually, though... for a while, that
was not the case and is probably something I did accidentally that broke it.

OTOH, I have run into some other "permission hell" scenarios that really
pissed me off.  IIRC, I also ran into some similar situations with my work
Win 11 machine, but not as often.
