                              To Another Time

     A child's garden flower rose above a summer's dream
     Kissing every kindness with delight
     Blessed the mountain water with the shimmer of it's gleam
     And sipped the fading beauty of the night

     But all too soon the darkness had descended all around them
     They regretted that they ever pushed aside the ones they cherished
     And how they cried for knowing it was loneliness that found them
     Though only for one moment, for that moment they had perished

     And how they felt the emptiness of moments they had wasted
     As slowly did the petals drift again to tiny hands
     That cradled it in fear of ever losing it's conception
     And humbled to the chastity of all that it commands.
