It may have been 40 years since CPUSA has fielded candidates, but I am
pretty sure there have been some other parties over the years (with other
names) that are basically communist and that have fielded candidates.  In
Kentucky, that is...

IIRC, they have disappeared sometime since I turned 18 and could vote,
which would be just barely less than 40 years ago.  :D

Still, this is interesting and the timing is probably not a coincidence.
