Schools have done a great job of turning kids off to just about everything.

Even going back 40 years, when I was in school, teachers nearly ruined my love
of literature - mostly because teachers have AWFUL taste in books, especially
for teen boys.

I've often said that I am where I am today not because of the public education
system, but in spite of it.
