I've always told people who wonder how I managed to get by that the trick is to start early, and then you have money working for you making more money.. Granted, investments can go up and down, or if you're fairly careful make a good return or less of one, but the past couple of years I'm at the point where, if I were taking the income from my funds, I'd be getting 3 times the money from there that my pension pays. I rarely touch that money though. I leave it alone to grow. Some day I may need it.
