Connemara Detailed Forecast for Thu 09 Apr 2026

Cloudy skies will persist across Connemara throughout Thursday with persistent
rain or drizzle, heaviest through the early hours into mid-morning before
gradually easing from late morning into afternoon. Western coastal areas will
see the steadiest rainfall while inland valleys may experience brief drier
spells by afternoon. Temperatures will struggle to rise, reaching only 8-10C in
most areas with the mildest conditions in southern districts. Winds will be
strong and gusty from the west to southwest, reaching 30-40 kph widely with
gusts of 45-55 kph particularly exposed coastal headlands and higher ground,
moderating slightly by evening.

Visibility will be reduced in rain and low cloud through the morning with hill
fog affecting higher elevations. Conditions will remain raw and unpleasant
despite any afternoon brightness, with the combination of wind, rain and modest
temperatures making it feel particularly cold. Evening will see winds easing
somewhat though remaining fresh, with scattered showers continuing overnight
into Friday morning.

00-06: Dense overcast with persistent light to moderate rain, heaviest before
dawn. Temperatures 7-9C. Strong southwest winds 20-25 kph gusting to 35 kph.
07-12: Cloudy with continuing rain or drizzle, gradually easing through late
morning. Temperatures rising slowly to 8-10C. Winds increasing westerly 25-30
kph gusting 40-50 kph.
13-18: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers or drizzle, some brighter intervals
developing. Temperatures holding 8-10C. Strong west to southwest winds 30-35 kph
gusting 45-55 kph.
19-00: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers or drizzle diminishing. Temperatures
falling to 6-8C. Winds moderating southwest 20-25 kph gusting to 40 kph.

Cleggan: Cloudy with persistent drizzle through morning becoming scattered
showers by afternoon. High 8C, windy with gusts to 50 kph.
Clifden: Overcast with light rain morning easing to showers by afternoon, some
brighter spells possible. High 9C, strong westerly winds gusting 45 kph.
Glinsce: Dense overcast with drizzle or light rain persisting through much of
the day. High 10C, strong southwest winds gusting to 45 kph.
Kylemore: Cloudy with light to moderate rain morning clearing to scattered
showers afternoon. High 8-9C, very windy with gusts to 51 kph.
Leenane: Overcast with persistent drizzle and light rain, heaviest morning. High
10C, breezy southwest winds gusting to 32 kph.
Letterfrack: Cloudy with drizzle or light rain through morning, easing to
scattered showers afternoon. High 9-10C, very windy with gusts to 46 kph.
Oughterard: Cloudy with light rain or drizzle morning becoming partly cloudy
with showers afternoon. High 10C, windy with gusts to 48 kph.
Renvyle: Dense overcast with light rain morning easing to showers by afternoon.
High 10C, strong westerly winds gusting to 46 kph.
