Connemara Detailed Forecast for Sun 12 Apr 2026

A cold and unsettled day across Connemara with rain or showers affecting all
areas, heavy at times especially during the morning. Cloud will be dense
overcast initially with periods of light to moderate rain spreading from the
west overnight, becoming most persistent through the morning hours. Temperatures
will struggle, reaching only 9-11C in most areas despite the cloud cover. Strong
to gale force west to west-southwest winds of 30-40 kph gusting 45-55 kph will
make it feel significantly colder, with wind chill values as low as 2-4C.
Conditions will improve somewhat during the afternoon with cloud breaking to
give some brighter spells, though scattered showers will continue.

The evening and night will see cloud thinning further with showers becoming more
isolated. Winds will gradually ease through the day, moderating to 20-30 kph by
evening. Humidity will remain very high at 80-95% throughout, and patchy light
fog may develop in sheltered areas after dark as winds fall light. Visibility
will be reduced to poor at times in the rain and drizzle. Overall an unpleasant
day requiring waterproofs and warm layers, with conditions slowly improving
through the afternoon and evening.
