Connemara Detailed Forecast for Sat 16 May 2026

A wet and cloudy day across Connemara with rain affecting all areas, heaviest
during the morning. Dense overcast conditions will persist throughout much of
the day with drizzle and rain becoming more intermittent by afternoon. Coastal
areas will see the worst of the rain early on, with moderate falls between
8-10am. Temperatures will struggle to reach 12-13?C in most areas. Westerly
winds will be fresh to strong, particularly along the coast, gusting 38-42 kph
from late morning onwards and persisting through the afternoon and evening.

Fog will not be an issue during daylight hours but may develop in sheltered
inland valleys overnight. Eastern areas around Oughterard may see brief clearer
spells during the afternoon with cloud thinning slightly, though western coastal
districts will remain overcast. Winds will ease somewhat during the evening but
remain brisk from the west. Overnight temperatures will fall to 7-9?C with
continued cloud and occasional drizzle.
