...There is a Slight Risk (level 2/4) of excessive rainfall over parts of
the Southern New England on Saturday and Sunday...

Upper-level energy and moisture moving northwestward from the Gulf will
produce showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain over parts of the
Southern High Plains on Friday. Therefore, the WPC has issued a Slight
Risk (level 2/4) of excessive rainfall with these thunderstorms over parts
of the Southern High Plains.  The associated heavy rain will create mainly
localized areas of flash flooding, with urban areas, roads, small streams,
narrow canyons/gullies, and burn scars the most vulnerable. The threat of
heavy rain will end on Saturday over this portion of the country. Showers
and thunderstorms will continue over parts of the Southern Rockies,
Southern High Plains, and Central Plains through early Saturday morning.
As moisture continues to stream northward over the Plains, showers and
thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Central/Southern Plains and
the Upper/Middle Mississippi Valley on Saturday into Sunday morning.

In addition, a front moving over the Pacific Northwest will produce rain
with embedded thunderstorms over the Northwest into the Northern
Intermountain Region with snow at the highest elevations on Friday.

Moreover, low pressure off the Mid-Atlantic Coast will move northward to
near Southern New England on Saturday into Sunday. The system will produce
heavy rain over portions of New England on Saturday and Sunday. Therefore,
the WPC has issued a Slight Risk (level 2/4) of excessive rainfall with
heavy rain over parts of Southern New England on Saturday and Sunday.
