Connemara Detailed Forecast for Sun 22 Mar 2026

Dense overcast skies will dominate the morning hours across Connemara with
patches of drizzle and light rain, particularly along western coasts and higher
ground. Temperatures will start around 7-9?C in most areas, rising to 11-14?C by
afternoon as skies gradually break to mostly cloudy or partly cloudy conditions.
Winds will be fresh to strong from the west-southwest initially, veering
north-northwest through the day and reaching 15-21 kph with gusts to 32-35 kph,
strongest along exposed western coasts. Visibility will be reduced by fog
patches early morning, especially in sheltered inland valleys.

The morning drizzle will taper off by late morning, though western and
northwestern areas may see occasional light showers continuing into early
afternoon. Humidity will be high initially (85-95%) but will drop to 63-70% by
late afternoon as drier air moves in. Coastal areas from Cleggan to Renvyle will
experience the strongest winds and most persistent cloud, while inland areas
around Oughterard and Maam Cross may see brighter spells developing earlier. By
evening, mostly cloudy to partly cloudy skies will prevail with winds easing
slightly and temperatures falling back to 8-11?C.
