Connemara Detailed Forecast for Sat 28 Mar 2026

A cold, mostly cloudy day with scattered rain or drizzle, particularly during
the early hours and again in the afternoon. Rain will be most persistent
overnight into Saturday morning across western and coastal areas, with moderate
falls possible early on. Cloud will remain extensive through the day, though
some breaks may develop inland by afternoon. Temperatures will struggle to
climb, ranging from 3-9?C across the region, with highest values late in the
day. Winds fresh to strong from the west-northwest, gusting 35-50 kph and
bringing a significant wind chill, especially across exposed western areas. The
day will feel bitterly cold despite the season, with wind chill values often
near or below freezing. By evening, skies will remain cloudy as rain becomes
more likely again overnight.

Conditions will remain unsettled overnight Saturday into Sunday as a deepening
low pressure system approaches from the Atlantic, bringing heavier rain and
strengthening winds. Western coastal areas will see the most persistent
precipitation, while eastern parts may experience slightly drier interludes. The
day will be characterized by poor visibility at times, particularly in drizzle
and rain, with hill fog likely across higher elevations. Despite the month, this
will feel more like a raw winter's day than late March, with outdoor activities
requiring careful planning and appropriate cold-weather gear.
